Integrating Improv into the Classroom

Teachers, Administrators, Paraprofessionals, Additional Staff

3rd-8th Grade

3 hours

One of the first pieces of advice I was given as a teacher was “Sometimes you have to decide whether to laugh or to cry”. My advice: Always pick to laugh.  This half day workshop will introduce how to integrate improvisational games into academic, social emotional, and speaking and listening standards. Teachers will learn games that they can integrate immediately into their already set lesson, morning meetings, closing circles, transitions, brain breaks, and so much more. Teachers are encouraged to bring already planned units, lessons, or other materials for discussions on how to utilize games to enhance their already planned activities.
